POWERHAND has announced its latest forestry grapple, the Terragrip
The Powerhand Terragrip is an unmatched force purpose-built to tackle the toughest of forestry tasks and grueling jobs like stump removal and clearing brash.
What sets the Terragrip apart?
Terragrip features one fixed leg which acts as a root ripper and ground rake while the dynamic moving leg works to secure loads precisely and reliably.
The moving leg has almost 180 degrees of movement thanks to its geometry. The vast opening span of 1,540 mm combines with its overall width of 1,200 mm to dramatically increase load capacity.
Terragrips wide range of movement also maximizes visibility for the operator by ensuring the moving leg is up and out of the way while the fixed legs dives deep into the load.
Managing director of Powerhand Murray Clark explained the motivation for creating this powerful grapple. He said: “Terragrip was designed with the end-user in mind. We wanted to create a tool that could handle the toughest forestry tasks with ease, while also being user-friendly and highly durable.
“Large-scale stump-removal and land-clearance operations are on the rise and our goal was to meet customer demands for this heavy-duty forestry work, and I believe we’ve achieved that.”
Other features
The Terragrip features 9 tines, all crafted from hardened Hardox steel for superior strength and long service life. This level of quality is essential for an attachment designed to tackle the most demanding forestry work. This commitment to durability means less downtime, allowing operators to stay productive and efficient.
The Terragrip is also highly versatile with the ability to be easily configured directly onto an excavator quick hitch or tiltroator, or it can come equipped with its own heavy-duty rotation unit.
With a net weight of 1,030 kg, the grapple is designed to fit machines ranging from 14 to 25 tonnes.
